Position Title: Estimator Low Voltage Systems

Position Summary
The Low Voltage Systems Estimator is responsible for supporting the estimating and preconstruction process by
preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for low voltage systems projects. This role involves analyzing
project documents, performing quantity take-offs, and assisting in the preparation of proposals. The Estimator
works closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure estimates align with project
requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed estimates.
• Perform material and labor take-offs for structured cabling, access control, video surveillance,
audiovisual (A/V), nurse call, and other low voltage systems.
• Preparing bills of materials (BOMs) and securing vendor/subcontractor pricing.
• Development of proposals, scopes of work, and clarifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of estimates.
• Assist in maintaining estimating tools, templates, and cost databases.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits, as needed.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Stay informed on industry pricing, products, and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
• 2–4 years of experience in low voltage systems estimating or related field.
• Familiarity with low voltage systems such as structured cabling, security, A/V, and access control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, WeSuite, or similar.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• BICSI certification or manufacturer training/certifications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Procore.
• Prior hands-on field experience in low voltage systems installation.
Working Conditions:
• This position is designated as hybrid, requiring a regular presence in the office while allowing for partial
work from a home office as approved by management, with occasional travel to job sites, client
meetings, and vendor locations as project needs require.
• Standard business hours with flexibility based on project deadlines and workload.

• Competitive salary: $90,000–$110,000 annually (DOE)
